Serendipity, pt. II
Monday evening started out with the best of intentions. I had a list of things to accomplish and the drive to do them. I got home from work, changed into sloppy clothes, took a half-hour walk, and was just coiling up the hose after watering my garden and trying to figure out what I would do for dinner when I got The Call.

"I'm trapped in Cleveland!" A voice from the past.

Fuck the to-do list. Change clothes, freshen the makeup, charge out the door.

My high-school crowd remains tight. Not in the sense that we see each other all the time, but that when we do, it's as if no time has passed. The conversation is easy, yet goes beyond the superficial "so, what've you been up to" of your typical reunion meeting. Marc especially has always been easy for me to fall back into a rhythm with. Maybe it's because I've known him the longest of that crowd. Maybe it's because we dated in high school. But what a joy to see him after two and a half years.

I met up with Tim — the instigator, as always — and Marc at Lolita in Tremont, apparently their soft opening, with free food and drinks. (Darn. I hate when that happens.) I unfortunately waited far too long to hit the food table and missed out on what looked like some wonderful stuff. Too busy catching up. Over to Southside for a bite. Had a wonderful time catching up. As always, it wasn't nearly long enough.
