The Access Project, which is nominated for a Webby Award, is one of the cooler things I've run across on the web recently. It's a traveling public art installation in which web users can target an individual within the installation space to be followed with a spotlight and targeted audio. Read the artist's statement, then, if you have a fast internet connection, click over to the archive and check out the July 2003 video. Fascinating concept in this Patriot Act age, and even more fascinating viewing.
