I hesitate to revel in this gorgeous day too much, lest it snow on my pasty white self in a couple of days, but I couldn't have asked for a nicer afternoon. Tim and I actually went down to the beach in the middle of April -- and it was hot! With the breeze off of Lake Erie I was concerned that it might be chilly down there, but I was actually sweating and very glad that I chose to change into shorts before going instead of remaining in the jeans.

Taxes piss me off. You get entirely screwed if you're self-employed. I was doing great until I hit the self-employment tax line, which ended up being nearly ten times what I owed in regular income taxes and which I'll never see again since Social Security is doomed to collapse well before I'm old enough to benefit from it. I think that's why I always put off taxes until the last minute -- being self-employed I always owe so there's no point in doing them early, and then when I do them, it puts me in a foul mood for days.

Amy's birthday was earlier this week -- happy birthday, Amy!

I owe tons of people e-mails and letters. If you're one of them, hang in there. I'll catch up soon, I promise. (This means Tara and Steve and Denise and Sarah and several more.)
