Wow. It's sunny and 60-some degrees outside -- warmer than in the house! I've cranked open the doors and windows to take advantage of this while it lasts. (It's supposed to thunderstorm later, and they're predicting snow again on Monday.)

Some random thoughts for a Friday:

I took yesterday pretty easy because I was suffering through a nasty throat and sinus thing. I've managed to make it through a Cleveland winter with getting sick only one other time. That's some kind of miracle. Today I'm still feeling it, although it's not as bad. Dayquil is about the only thing that helps, but it makes me hyper and unable to sustain concentration, so I'm just going to chalk today up to being one of those days where I flit around doing a little of this and a little of that. Which is probably good, because there are plenty of thises and thats to be done around here.

As crappy as February was otherwise, I won a fat Amazon.com gift certificate from Adobe for being part of their "advisory panel" (which sounds more important than it is; basically, I answer an occasional survey for them). After a couple of weeks debating whether I should go the practical route or the frivolous route with it, frivolity won. My iPod should be here next week, along with a nifty device that will allow me to play it through my car stereo. No more fumbling through stacks of CDs or wishing I had brought along something else altogether -- it will all be there in the palm of my hand.

I keep looking for owls in the corners of my rooms.
