Last week I welcomed Fiona to the staff here at the publishing arm of Global Domination, Inc. This is the first day she's sat still enough for long enough to have her photo taken.

She is a good lapwarmer, especially in this recent frigid weather, but lately has shown ambition toward becoming not only a typist, but a critic as well. Her use of the delete key is swift and terrible. My "tough love" managerial style -- i.e., unceremoniously dumping her onto the floor when the paw reaches out toward the keyboard -- is meeting with mixed results so far. Still, I am optimistic since the same treatment got her to stop crawling onto my neck when I'm trying to sleep.
In other news, it's still cold. Twelve whole degrees F, for those of you keeping score at home.
Tim is off to London, the rat, for his big meeting with the BBC. He just might manage to pull this off -- and I'll be so excited for him if he does.
Work continues to pour in, for which I am grateful. This of course means that I still owe lots of people e-mail.
