So many things to do, so little time. In addition to dealing with my Angst of Late, I've been busy with a huge freelance book project. And lined up right behind it are a slew of other things that need to get done, one way or another: BHS and OSU alumni projects, personal web projects, the kitchen garden, getting back into shape, art projects, computer projects, house organizing, letter writing, friendship maintenance, and so on.
I am a compulsive list maker -- a trait inherited from my mom -- and my to do list seems entirely unmanagable right now. I'm doing my best to employ good project manager strategy: separate the big projects into smaller chunks, and prioritize, prioritize, prioritize. I've also developed an auxiliary strategy: set the kitchen timer for 30 minutes and see how many of the manini things (e.g., filing receipts, paying bills, wiping down the kitchen counters, etc.) I can check off before moving onto a larger chunk of time on a bigger project. This way, I can feel like I'm making some progress against the list, yet not neglect the larger projects. But it's still pretty overwhelming.
I will be very glad when this book project is done.
