Toronto was awesome. I love that city. Love it. Now, if we could pick it up and move it to a warmer climate, I'd be happy.
The conference was good -- no need to bore you with the details here -- and I met some great people. I've been to a lot of conferences in my lifetime, and have to say that this one has had the best parties so far. There were three receptions Saturday night, the last of which was held at the restaurant in the CN Tower, with it's fabulous views and surprisingly good wine and grand-looking desserts (alas, I was too full to partake of dessert). A few of us took the elevator up to the Skypod for an even higher view of the city at night -- highly recommended. Sunday night's reception was at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, which is accessible only by boat. We all got to feel very posh as we wandered the gardens and verandahs of those lovely grounds.
I got into Cleveland Tuesday night to a short burst of pleasant weather before the thunderstorm hit. Mom's new house is across the street from the lake, so it was cool to watch them out over the lake. Since then, it's been mighty cold -- it's nearing noon now and the thermometer hasn't cracked 70 yet -- and cloudy and rainy and just depressing. These first few days here have been kind of quiet for me. I've done a little shopping and a bit of visiting and a lot of napping and staring at the wall. I'm in a funk, but I don't feel like talking about it right now.
