It was a nice Christmas, all things considered. The weather could not have been more perfect for a morning at the beach. I had considered either a drive up to the North Shore or a movie in the afternoon, but ended up reading and taking a nap instead. The grill started up well on the first try and the ribeye was fantastic. Not really a Christmassy Christmas, but an enjoyable day nonetheless.
The best part of Christmas day is that it seemed to go on forever. My three hours at the beach seemed like all day, but I was home by noon. I read some of my book, took a two-hour nap, talked on the phone for at least an hour total, updated the webpage, checked & replied to e-mail, shopped for a digital camera on the web (still haven't taken the plunge), fired up the grill, mashed some potatoes, ate a great dinner, watched two mediocre videos not worth mentioning and half of Boston Public, and read for another hour or so before falling asleep. I had to have been awake for at least 28 hours yesterday to cram all that in and still have what seemed like a very relaxing day. Even the five-minute snooze intervals on my alarm clock this morning felt like they were an hour long.
Of course, Christmas isn't over yet for me. I'm still waiting for Mom's package to arrive and Kevin to return from Maui so we can have our celebration.
