Let's just say that I'm scared for the schoolchildren of this state -- and not just the ones who are gay or otherwise out of the mainstream.

This past four-day weekend was a welcome break from the routine. A lot of things happened, but not much that I can write about here -- it's either way too personal or way too mundane.

I did get a whole lot of my hair cut off on Election Day, though not necessarily in mourning for the election outcomes. Jafra at Aquaria did a fantastic job giving me a great cut that my cosmetically challenged self can deal with. Maybe I'll post a picture. Or not.

I spent a lot of time reading The Poisonwood Bible, which our next book club selection. Wonderful book.
