the verdict
The verdict is my second-favorite combo: sinus infection + upper respiratory infection with nearly total loss of voice, requiring $55.89 in copayments, prescriptions, and OTC meds. (My first-favorite combo is when you throw a bout of my chronic bronchitis into that mix, which an additional $20 or so in prescriptions will do nothing to allay.) I am under strict orders to rest and drink nothing but hot, sugary fluids today, so I'm doing some catch-up blog reading and posting while drinking honey-laden tea. (I had forgotten how much I love honey in my tea.) Later I plan to loll about on the couch and watch some brainless movies.
I have been assured that I should be well enough and noncontagious enough to help out with the Merry Arts golf outing tomorrow. My sister, in addition to being a bartender par excellence, is a great event planner, and this is her baby. I'll be there to take pictures of the foursomes as they head out (then will go get the photos printed and put into the lovely photo folders I made in time for everyone to be able to take them home) and just generally help out however I can.
I am happy to report that the curse has been broken. It used to be that if I paid attention to an Indians game on the TV, we lost. Without fail. This week I watched most of two games, and we won both. By a lot. I'm looking forward to being able to watch games again.
