Today marks the one-year anniversary of my moving into my house. I feel the need to mark the occasion with some kind of ritual. I'm not sure yet what that is going to end up being.

I've managed to accomplish a lot around here in the course of the year. All the main-floor rooms have been painted and have had their yucky carpeting removed. The fuse boxes have been consolidated into one modern breaker box. The dryer outlet has been rearranged so as to facilitate venting the dryer to the outside. I have all new windows and doors. I have some three-pronged outlets where they're needed. Old shrubs have been pulled out. New garden beds have been dug and filled, and three yards of fresh topsoil have been distributed. The kitchen has new countertops, a new faucet, a new ceiling fan, a new doorbell thingy, and a fresh coat of paint on the cabinets. Window treatments are in progress. The bathroom tile has been replaced, as have the awful fluorescent lights that were in there. Some hinky plumbing has been repaired. The mail slot was plugged up and replaced with a mailbox. Drywall work was done. I'm exhausted just thinking about it all.
