I love three-day weekends. I don't have to choose between relaxing and doing what needs to get done -- I can do both.
I spent the early morning at the beach, as usual. A pretty good south swell is going right now, and the boogie boarders down by the zoo are loving life. I opted not to take my board out today, since it was so crowded and I'm just not that good yet. My beach-neighbor took his six-year-old granddaughter out with him, and she clamored to go out again almost as soon as they came in after the first round. I love to see families get such joy out of doing stuff together.
This afternoon I concentrated on running errands, working in the garden, and getting the mosaic started. The mosaic wasn't as complicated as I thought it might be, once I decided on a pattern.
Other than dedicating some time to freelance work, I have only one more project that I'd like to complete this weekend: getting some plants up in the big window in the back room. We have jalousie windows with no curtains, and since the clueless landlady had the perfectly good mango tree cut down, our back room has no privacy from our side neighbors. We have such a nice breeze through here most of the time that we don't want to have curtains. My compromise is lots and lots of dangly hanging plants. The plan is working well in the back window so far.

TV shows that people I love and respect rave about, but I just don't get: Ally McBeal, Survivor, Sex in the City.
I watch precious little TV, just the Sunday night Fox lineup and That 70s Show on a regular basis, and occasionally Friends or Family Guy.
I really hate it when they start arbitrarily moving shows around from one time or night to another.
(Pseudo-Mom voice:) The VCR is set, people, don't *make* me have to reprogram it. Chances are I'll stop watching altogether. Complicating matters is that our local TV guide is rarely accurate.
And didn't season premieres used to be in September?
